The Role of AI and Machine Learning in Drug Discovery

The application of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) is changing the course
of drug development activities altogether within the businesses in the pharmaceutical market.
This review analyses the most important models, advantages, problems, and trends of drug
development with the help of AI and ML. AI and ML strategies are used at different stages of the
drug discovery process, such as in target selection, drug design and optimization, and drug
efficacy and toxicity predictions. These strategies enhance productivity, lower expenses, and
boost Cadila drug development success rates. On the other hand, there are some hindrances
such as the level of data quality, issues surrounding ethics, and adoption within the current
systems in use. The progress made in AI and ML technologies together with changes in the
regulatory mechanisms in place and augmentation of different sectors working together makes
